Fished yesterday evening out of Franklin canal. Headed over to Quintana area. We fished the dead end canals and managed to catch a decent number of bass. Our final count was 8 keepers with alot of smaller throw backs. We caught on sinko's watermelon red and flukes, on 8 lb test. The tide was incoming. When fishing this area you want to make sure you time it with the tide movement either outgoing or incoming. Also if you see the water beginning to turn black either turn around and fish the other bank or head to
another canal. The black water tends to not hold fish. The water looks good basically everywhere but again make sure its not black. While at the boat ramp we spoke with a older gentleman and he said he had done real well. He had 30 sacalait and 15 bass. On another note. If you plan on doing some salt water fishing I would recommend the Mardi gras rig area and the Four League Bay area. I spoke with a friend of mine who was out there this week he said the water was salty and green with alot of shrimp. Starting next month the boats will be showing up there, so you can get a head start on them if you head out this weekend. Ill be fishing the Cocodrie area and will keep everyone updated. Well that's all I have for now again have a great week on the water and be safe.
