Windy weekend

Well first off congratulations to everyone that fished the areas local tournaments this weekend and managed to put some decent fish on the board considering the Low tide, cold mornings and strong wind. Personally the wind just needs to lay down. I changed it up today and spent the day on the Atchafalaya River launching out of Myette Pointe. The game plan with the river being high is find some bank and some decent water, not black. Amarada on the River side is usually a good place to fish when the water is 13 feet. We managed to catch 3 keeper bass with several throw backs, a couple sacalait and a mess of large brim. Not bad considering all the conditions. The fish where not caught in any specific area, basically start once you enter the main channel and the water begins to change from its stain color. I caught the bass on a Yum Blue Flake worm 10 inch, Texas rigged, and a Ribbet watermelon red frog with chartreause legs, basically just swimming it on the surface. The pan fish where all caught on #1050 Becky Jig with a chartreause nibblet, fished about 2 feet below the cork. The river is 13.3 holding steady. Once it begins to fall the usual hot spots will begin producing some fish. Well that's all I have for now. Again be safe out there and have a great week on the water. Next stop Duck Lake
