Weekend Fishing report (Captin David)

Toledo bend report. The person I spoke with fished around six mile, both Friday and Saturday. The bite was slow but steady for bass, ended up the weekend with 10 nice keepers and a caught few shorts they threw back. He said that all the fish where larger than average, couple 4 pounders. There fish where caught mostly on crank bait. They also tried for some sacaulait with shiners on Sunday with no luck. The Jeanerette lunkers bass club also had a tournament there and from what I was told it was also slow. They did however have a big bass of alittle over 6 lbs. Majority of the places fished where south of Boones crossing again around the six mile area.

Also got a report from Stephensville area and I was told the sacaulait are biting pretty good around Lake Verret.

Since the Atchafalaya river is so high, Ill be heading to the point Thursday looking for some fish, and who knows where Friday will take me. It looks like after Tuesday its going to be a great week on the water. Good luck to everyone and be safe.
