In two short years, linebacker Aaron Maybin went from promising first-round draft pick to bust in Buffalo after the Bills waived him Monday.
"He put so much into it, but there wasn't any appreciable improvement," coach Chan Gailey said after evening practice in suburban Rochester. "It was better to do it now than to do it later."
The move did not come as a surprise, especially after Gailey had already described Maybin's status as "tenuous" in January.
