PLATFORM SHOES.

I have been giving this a lot of thought, and maybe it is time I air my view, even if it means a few ladies are gonna wish they can cut my heart out.

Yes, platforms. My opinion, I am not crazy about them, they tend to give false impression. I mean, a seven inch heel, no foot, (a normal one ok?) can lift that high under normal circumstances, let alone walk like that, so they are clever, they build a huge platform under the ball of the foot. Hell, that's false man, like a two faced, bottom dealin' poker player.

Let's use Megan as an example, the ones in this picture are not that bad, granted, but in my opinion it would have looked much nicer had her toes been flat on the ground and her heels elevated around 4 to 5 inches.

Now compare the picture above, to this one down here of Adriana Lima. What do you think, which looks more real, more true??

Here is a great example of platform shoes messing up a great looking outfit, big time. Heidi looking especially nice, make up, perfect, hair looking great,(from a man's point of view ok?) beautiful dress, complete with fairy wings! A pretty picture as long as you don't take into account those shoes!! They spoil everything. Juk, they are hideous!

More spoilers.... this time Kim shows me how to mess up a great outfit.

Here is a perfect example, zoom in and compare the shoes of Teri Hatcher to those of the lady in the background. You be the judge, which looks better? Be honest now...

Finally, the ideal picture, Ava showing us what it should look like, heel about 4, maybe 5 inches above the red carpet, front of foot flat on the ground. PERFECT!

Nothing false 'bout that. The perfect picture!!

I am sure I am going to get some flak about this post, but I am equally sure I will be able to handle it, so let's have it.

Top 10 worst internet outages

After Google's email service temporarily disappeared this week, Check out the worst examples of web sites and internet services crashing - here's the top 10:

Google outage
Millions of internet users worldwide sit up and take notice when Google goes down. The latest outage on Tuesday 24 February lasted for more than two hours, with the web giant attributing the unplanned downtime to testing new software during datacentre maintenance. Google has promised that the minority of subscribers who were paying to use Google services at the time will receive 15 days of free access. On 11 August 2008 Google’s Gmail site went down for a couple of hours, again inconveniencing millions of people.

1901 Census site
The Public Record Office made the mistake of advertising its 1901 census website heavily in advance of its launch, thereby stoking unprecedented levels of interest in genealogy and UK ancestry around the world. Not only did the site promptly crash under the weight of an estimated 30 million visitors a day (it was designed to handle a daily influx of 1 million visitors), it was withdrawn five days after its official opening in January 2002 and stayed down for a further seven months.

Snow trains today
February 2009 saw many travel web sites flooded with additional visitors as hundreds of thousands of stranded workers struggled to find out if they could get to work. The Transport For London web site was briefly down, while the National Rail Enquiries web site ran at "reduced pace" as hits rose 800 per cent compared with a normal Monday, with more than 32,000 users visiting it every second. South West Trains also reduced its homepage to a bare minimum and posted a note about heavy web traffic, while enquiries on the AA and RAC web sites were also well above average, slowing down access considerably.

Severed underwater cables
In December 2008, a severed fibre optic cable under the Mediterranean Sea broug ht severe disruption to countries in the Middle East for over two days, with up to 70 per cent of all internet traffic and telephone communications between Europe and Africa affected. Internet traffic had to be rerouted through Asia and the US to keep people connected. A similar outage halted communications between Europe, Africa and Asia earlier in 2008, believed to have been caused by ships’ anchors ripping through a section of the same cables.

Not so Hotmail
The last big global Hotmail outage, reported to have also affected MSN messenger and other Microsoft Live services, happened this time last year (February 2008) and lasted for over two hours, with another big outage in 2006. MSN Messenger was reported to be down for up to a week for some users in July 2001, with Microsoft blaming an extremely rare set of circumstances resulting from one of its database servers having a disk controller failure.

YouTube IP hijacking
Video sharing web site YouTube was put out of action for two hours in February 2008 by a Pakistani telecommunications company, which was attempting to block Pakistan residents from accessing the site. The telco was blamed for passing on the IP addresses to other Pakistani service providers so that YouTube traffic could be redirected elsewhere, where a network configuration error led to them being blocked by many of the world’s ISPs.

Skype reaches the limit
In August 2007, a software fault prevented up to 220 million registered users from ccessing and making internet telephone calls using every version of Skype software downloaded since 2003. Skype, acquired by Ebay for $2.6bn (£1.8bn) in 2005, said at the time that it did not fully understand the reasons for the outage, but denied that it had anything to do with capacity problems caused by its rapidly expanding user base.

Amazon S3 suffers
Amazon’s cloud computing platform Simple Storage Service (S3) is supposed to provide users with storage on demand, which it does – unless the site is down. It was hit by an outage in February 2008, as one of its datacentres became unreachable when the maximum capacity of its authentication service was breached, according to the company. Fresh outages were suffered in June of the same year amid speculation that Amazon was targeted by a denial of service (DoS) attack.

Ebay woes
Parts of the world’s best-known online auction site was down intermittently for almost a day in June 1998, as a result of a failure in the software used to list items for sale and update bids for the outage. Ebay is estimated to have lost over $3m (£2.1m) in revenue due to customer refunds and waived fees, and had to extend auctions to make sure bidders were given a fair deal. Periodic problems in 1999, 2002 and 2003 followed, leading Ebay to formulate an outage policy for customers and seek to reassure investors that reliability issues had been resolved.

Going down in San Fancisco
In July 2007 a major electrical outage in San Francisco saw a 227,000 sq ft datacentre hosting popular sites such as Craigslist, TypePad, Technorati, Second Life and Gamespot go down for several hours, demonstrating the importance of effective disaster recovery strategies.

SOME MORE UNKNOWN CELEBS.

Here are a few more celebrities that I do not know, maybe you can put a name to some of them, I would love if you would help me out on their names, but in the mean time, let's give them a well deserved spot in the lime light, here on my humble blog. (not that any of them would ever bother to even look at it, but as they say, it is the idea that counts.)

I have to add, I was a bit disappointed when I zoomed in on this picture, this lady's finger nails need a coat of nail varnish and there is a spot of something on the front of her dress, otherwise she looks really great and colorful. No idea who she is though....

This young lady looks terrific, don't you just love the ear rings! I am convinced any man worth his salt would be mighty proud to have her walk next to him.

Just like a breath of fresh, cool, mountain air, the only way I can describe this young lady. Colorful, neat and if you know me, you will also know that I have a weak spot for high heeled, peep toe shoes and red nail varnish.

Last but not least, stylish and sexy, flaunting her sex appeal. Surely any man would be proud to be seen with her.

I am saying this again, I'm not able to put a name to any of these ladies, but you more than likely can, so please for my information and my other readers, please let us know who they are.
Have a great day!

Again, after getting feedback from my readers I thought it wise to post a video I found on the net on how to walk in high heels. Now I have posted on it before but it is difficult for me as a man to tell you how to do it, I am forced to do research and then give you a second hand ,so to speak. Please take a look at the video and see if you can win the battle on how to walk in high heeled shoes.
If anyone has anything to add, please feel free to do so, I am sure everyone would be keen to read about it.

100ft-long 'snake' found in Borneo (Image)

According to legend, the Nabau was a terrifyingsnake more than 100ft in length and with a dragon'shead and seven nostrils. But now local villagers living along the Baleh river inBorneo believe the mythical creature has returned afterthis photo of a gigantic snake swimming along the remotewaterways has emerged.

The picture, taken by a member of a disaster teammonitoring flood regions by helicopter, has sparked ahuge debate about whether the photos are genuine ormerely the work of photo-editing software.Borneo's Nessie: The image that sparked fears agiant serpent was stalking the river Baleh.Even the respected New Straits Times newspaper in Kuala Lumpur has asked readers to make up their ownminds about the photos.

Villagers who claim to have seen the snake say theyhave given it the name of Nabau, after an ancient seaserpent which can transform itself into the shapes ofdifferent animals.

People who have studied the photograph of the shapetaken from the air have dismissed suggestions that it's a log.As one writer asked: 'A log can't be that winding, can it?'Others have suggested it's a speedboat, but this has been dismissed because of the twisting wake. The most common accusation is that the photo hassimply been manipulated on a computer, while others complain that the river is a different colour to the real Baleh rover which is a murky brown.

Mythical: A second frame appears to show something snake-like in the water off a remote village. But villagers who insist the snake exists say that photos of the creature being taken in different parts of the river prove it is swimming about.

Earlier this month scientists unearthed the fossil of a killer snake that was longer than a bus, as heavy as a small car nand which could swallow an animal the size of a cow.

The 45ft long monster - named Titanoboa - was so big that it lived on a diet of crocodiles and giant turtles, squeezing them to death and devouring them whole.Weighing an impressive 1.25 tons, it slithered around the tropical forests of South America 60million years ago, just five million years after the last dinosaurs were wiped out.Partial skeletons of the boa constrictor-like prehistoric killer were found in a Colombian coal mine by an international team of fossil hunters.
